How to Use Your Own Fonts in PicMonkey

How to Use Your Own Fonts in PicMonkey
February 6, 2017 PicMonkey

Sure, PicMonkey’s got a jillion fonts for your designs, but you’ve probably got a few beauties of your own you’d like to use too. Who’s gonna limit you? Not us! You can easily access any font you’ve installed on your computer for the designs you make in PicMonkey. This is key for social media mavens, bloggers, and small business owners who need a unified brand look. It’s also great for designers and photo enthusiasts whose creativity demands the font faucet on full blast.

Here’s a quick (like, 100 second) video that shows it in action:

Fonts are shown in the “Ours” and “Yours” tab

The PicMonkey text tool has a tab for the PicMonkey fonts and your own fonts. When you open the Text tool you’ll see Ours and Yours buttons underneath the Add Text button. The Ours tab automatically displays the PicMonkey font list you’re probably familiar with.

Here’s the magic: click the Yours tab and a list of all the fonts (all. the. fonts!) housed on your computer magically appears, and you can use ’em just like PicMonkey’s fonts. You will never again suffer from font withdrawal.

The Recent group shows the fonts you used last

The PicMonkey text tool displays the fonts you've used most recently in a list.

The Recent group shows up at the top of the PicMonkey font list (Ours) and your own font list (Yours). It’s a handy place to find the last 10 fonts you used in each list. If you’d rather see all the fonts all the time, just click the tiny caret on the right side of Recent, and that group will collapse.

Language fonts are hidden to keep things tidy

The PicMonkey text tool gives you the option to show or hide language fonts installed on your computer.

PicMonkey automatically filters out more than 100 fonts for languages that use non-Roman alphabets so they don’t clutter up your fonts list. But if your computer is set up to use those languages and alphabets, and you want them, check the Show language fonts button at the bottom of the Yours font list.
